What is The Up Down Market? The Up Down Market is a curated community market featuring local vendors, artists, makers, and food creators. Our inaugural market is holiday-themed, celebrating local businesses and bringing the Durham community together.

When is the market? Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Where is it located? GeerHouse, 620 Foster St., Durham, NC 27701

Is there an admission fee? No! The market is free to attend. We do have a few friend date packages you can enter with a suggested $10 donation (or more if you'd like to support the market).

PARKING & GETTING THERE

Where can I park?

• GeerHouse Parking Deck (on-site)

• Free street parking in the neighborhood (free on weekends)

Is the market accessible? Yes, the market is wheelchair accessible, and there are ramps at GeerHouse. The main market area is on hard-packed ground with a layer of rocks, so depending on your wheelchair, moving through the space may be somewhat difficult.

Can I bike there? Absolutely! Bike racks are available at GeerHouse and around the neighborhood.

AT THE MARKET

What can I buy at the market? You'll find handmade goods, unique gifts, art, jewelry, home goods, local food, and more from curated local vendors. Perfect for holiday shopping.

Will there be food and drinks? Yes! We'll have food vendors and beverage options – all for purchase.

What payment methods do vendors accept? Most vendors accept cash and card (Square, Venmo, etc.). We recommend bringing both just in case.

Can I bring my dog? Yes. 

Can I bring my kids? Absolutely! It's a family-friendly event.

Will there be music? Yes! We'll have live music throughout the afternoon.

WEATHER & OTHER DETAILS

What if it rains? The market is primarily outdoors at GeerHouse, so we will likely reschedule to Sunday if there’s inclement weather.

How long should I plan to stay? Stay as long as you want – and come and go as you please – until we shut down at The Up Down!

Is there seating available? Yes, there will be areas to sit and relax.

Will there be bathrooms? Yes, restrooms are available inside GeerHouse and Nectar Cafe.
